Embassy of Switzerland to the Holy See (Vatican City)

As the official Swiss representation to the Holy See, the Embassy helps to deepen the bilateral cooperation in the areas of peace promotion and sustainable development, which are common to both countries' foreign policies. The Embassy also represents Switzerland's interests in domestic politics, science, education and culture. It also looks after relations with the Swiss Papal Guard.

Responsibilities

  • The Swiss Embassy to the Holy See/Vatican City is the competent representation for diplomatic relations with the Holy See, Malta and San Marino. However, for all consular affairs please contact the Swiss Embassy in Rome/Italy.
  • Consular services (registration and deregistration, issuing of Swiss passports and identity cards, civil status changes, etc.) are provided by the following Swiss representation: Embassy of Switzerland in Rome/Italy
